Audio track lags about 30 seconds to video -- how can I synch them?

tried every kind of setting I could find in Potplayer and the output video file all have the same problem: the audio track lags the video by about 30 to 32 seconds.
hardware: HDMI to USB 3 Video Capture Dongle; HP Pavilion AIO 12 GB RAM intel i7-6700T. using latest potplayer .

any advice on how to get audio and video synchronized is appreciated!

Check the video by using a different player, VLC is one. If you still have the same problem, maybe a capture problem instead.

That's a huge sync error. I would see that if the capture device dropped the signal at some point or the video was already damaged.

What brand and model is the capture device?

Other members may be able to give more advice. A MediaInfo text file of the video, before and after capture would be helpful.
