Just got the HDK2 OSVR Hacker unit and every time I connect the HDMI cable to the computer it crashes.
I can't get the unit to work.
    Can anybody make suggestions?

Not latest video news. Moving you to the Computer Forum.
I also changed your title to better reflect the subject of your post.

A link to the basic unit: http://www.razerzone.com/vr/hdk2

    And welcome to our forums.

  4. Can't find any list of system requirements but didn't look very hard, suggestion #1 would be for the OP to find them and post them.

Suggestion #1a would be the hardware compatibility list, see above.

Suggestion #2 would be to describe software and driver installation, if any.

#3 would be to un-install the above, completely and thoroughly, if installed, and if not, find updates.

#4 would be to connect the cable in safe mode before any software or driver install and see what happens.

#5 would be to not purchase any high-end equipment with "open-source" in the name.

    I love your 5 points. Especially # 5.
With that said, we are looking for a viewer to play VR 3D movies.
Something we can upload the videos to directly.
    Any suggestions?

  6. First thing is don't buy Razer junk. That company has gone way downhill. This unit in particular is known to need a lot of manual configuration and has a bunch of driver bugs according to just about every review to can find on it.
