What are the best CDR / CDRW's to use (on the local market) when burning VCD's?

Taiyo Yuden are the highest quality.My philosophy
nly buy silver or blue coated disks.

"Quality" of a CD-R has only partly to do with the dye and reflecting layer used.
The quality and thickness of the lacquer layer (the very top) is probably more important as the dye layer is just below it.
Kodak Ultima discs and Verbatime DataLife Plus are also excellent quality media and probably more available worldwide.
