Intel will release 1.3ghz processor that can encode hevc 4k30 in realtime

Intel has said that their y series Kaby Lake processors will be able to encode 4k30 in hevc in real time. The fastest y series processor is 1.3ghz, the entry level is 1.0 ghz. These will be released before the end of the year. I am very curious to see if the kaby lake desktop processors will be able to do 4k60 in hevc in real time.

Go for Xilinx Zynq FPGA - there is HEVC encoder/decoder there + 2 ARM core + bunch of gates...

Good for them /sarc. Smartphones have been able to encode h.265 4K in realtime since idk circa 2014. Hardware encoding on a PC is stupid, and PC's are dead.
