My questions is a simple one. I have like 60+ screener movies and all of them are in mpg format but all are in 2 cd files at about 550 to 650 megs each file. Most of them are not GREAT quality movies IE blocky hazey HOT his etc. even though they are screeners. anyway i decided that who ever originaly ripped these jsut uese the standard VCD bitrate of 1150 and 256kbs audio. I decided that these would be perfect for the Kwag template since i could get the same quality and half the size. The problem i have is jsut that the resolution that is default in the template, im not in front of my home computer but i thinks its 356x 480 or somthing close. Well that has a wierd affect on the movies. it either streaches the movie or squishes it so that it is distracting. I have been opeing the movies in bitrate viewer and look at the settings IE frame rate resolution/aspect ratio and pal or ntsc.i then take that data and input it into tmpg and the movies looks as good as the other. IM sory im going on and on.. My point is i hear people talking about using the default resolution and i would like ot to try to increase the quality a bit .. i know i cant make it look better than the source but it will look a bit better by emulating pixals so that when i view on tv it will appear a bit better. i have gone to advanced and chengedd that to every setting it allows you to and also under main setting i also tried those. Anything but the same resolution of the source messes up the aspect ratio... Why is this?
BTW i have done aobut half my screeners so far and the template with my mods works great i got all the movies to fit on 1 80 min CDR each with same quality.. i have had to change the resolution and aspect ration i also have to mess with the CQ setting. i have it set to 75 for lots but have gone as high as 93
Just a tip.. you all may know this. but a CDR will fit up to 833 megs with out over burning. in win exp it will show 833 but if you then pull it into NTI it actually burns at 703 megs.. i have gone as high as 720 with over burn but i have a good CDR drive and use good media.
