  1. Where the hell can I adjust the vbv buffer using cinema craft encoder???

    THANXX!!

  2. yo read forum rules!!, no need to double post, one is quite enough..

    answer, you can't.

  3. What does that mean i cant. My dvd player(panasonic rv31) is not able to play svcd but i read when i decrease the vbv buffer to 40 kb my dvd player is able to play the svcd flawless.

  4. It means you can't, simple english. You can't adjust the buffer settings within CCE. The only way to "fool" this panasonic is by using TMPG.

Someone will tell you to use BBmpeg to adjust the buffer there. Won't work, while yes it adjust the buffer for the overall stream, the video buffer has already been set by CCE. It still won't play correctly, been there done that.

But here's a lil side note. At equal bitrates & res, theorectically there is no difference between mpeg1 & mpeg2. So honestly you are wasting your time trying to jump through these hoops. Just make an xVCD with res of 352x480, looks just fine when done right for this player. I do it for my neighbor who has this player, and it works fine.

Kdiddy is right. You can not change the VBV buffer size in cce. CCE's buffer settings are for MPEG-1 =20 and for MPEG-2 = 112. Simply you can not change it. CCE encodes MPEG-2 at MP@ML only. According to the SVCD IEC62107 standard the VBV buffer size is 112 (=224KB). This is usually enough for SVCD. If you use a GOP structure without B-frames or even without P-frames you may get problems. Or if you encode to MPEG-1 VBR at high bitrates, because remember that CCE's MPEG-1 VBV buffer size is 20 (=40KB) only.
Also there is no way to change the buffer size properly than using a hex editor. Since the VBV buffer size is a sequence header information, you could change it without reencoding, but I dont know a patcher, that helps you to do that. BBMPEG wont adjust the buffer at all and TMPGEncbeta12 (MPEG tool VBV buffer optimisation) writes a 2nd system header instead of changing the original.

  6. Thanx 4 your support guys but to be honest I dont know what you talkin about the whole thing with p-frames, i-frames header and templet. Is it possible to do it with tmpgenc or let me say it like this is it possible to play a svcd on my rv31 if yes how????

    THANXXX!!!

  7. One other thing and this goes out to kiddy can you make me a tutorial how to make a xvcd that looks fine on my player like how you do it for your neighbour that would be cool!!

    Thanxx in advance!!!!

  8. What I can tell you is the exact same tutorial in the How-To section to your left. Look for how to make an VCD/xVCD with TMPG. What you are confuse on is this. That player will not play SVCDs. What people do is take an mpeg2 stream, and play a VCD header on it. So the play thinks its a VCD, because that is how it is authored. That gets back to my side note about mpeg1 & mpeg2 compression. From there you just have to adjust your bitrate to your desired # of disk/filesize.

  9. Sorry man but im still confused because I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MY AVI FILE!!!! Should I convert it to mpeg1 xvcd or mpeg2 and then put a vcd header on it?? still dont know how that works. Please give me that last note and im happy and gone!!!

    Thanks.

Use TMPGEnc. Just load a SVCD template, unlock it and change MPEG-2 to MPEG-1, at the system tab change to VCD(non-standard).
You said your player requires a VBV buffersize of 40 KB (unbelievable !! ), if this is true, change the buffer size from 112 KB (default TMPG setting) to 40 KB. Note, you will probably end with a buffer underflow when you playback the MPEG. If your player really (I still dont believe it) support buffer up to 40KB only, you probably have to decrease the resolution (e.g. 352x480) and the max. bitrate as well. Note, TMPGEnc wont give you an underflow error message if encode to a system MPEG stream. To be on the save side, do a simple demux / remux. (file > MPEG tools > simple demultiplex.) If the buffer is too small you will get an error message then.

  11. Is not possible once I load a templet i cant change the settings.
Please I dont want to convert it to svcd no more. Just explaine to a newbie in newbie language how to make this trick with the vcd header how it says in this report about dvd player rv31.
Or let me say it like this i got an avi file (Movie very good quality) and I want to look it on my panasonic rv31, if possible with the same quality. What should I do???
I think this is the best way to express my feelings.

Thanks for your support till now!!!!

You asked > "WHAT TO DO WITH MY AVI FILE!!!". So I told you.
If you have converted to MPEG-2 alreaddy and want to burn it to XVCD, you have to demultiplex with TMPG and remultiplex as Video-CD (non-standard).
But you can not change the VBV buffer size that way.
Now it is time to read some tutorials.

  13. HMMM Now I figured out whats the whole idea is but im still a lil confused about the demultiplex and remultiplex thing this is what im goin to do:

1.I convert my avi file to svcd(mpeg2) with tmpgenc how it says in the tutorial.
2.Now I dont know what to do cause there are 5 categories in tmpgenc tools: simple multiplex, simple de-multiplex, multiplex, simple de-multiplex and merge and cut.
After I convert to svcd im clueless!!

Thanks and sorry for my stupidity!!

  14. One other thing when im done how should I burn it with nero, vcd or svcd??

  15. Ocelot no offense, gut you really need to take some time & READ carefully the How-To AND Author sections to your left. They are very straight forward. And yes, some of this requires a tad bit of common sense.

  16. Kiddy no offense but this entire thing got nothing to do with common sense it got sumthing to do with too much time, no friends and nothing else to do then sitting the whole day on my computer and reading things I dont need like you. So answer my questions or keep reading your how to's and authors and stop your dumbass commentaries. !!!

P.S: Go out and find yourself a girlfriend!!!

Ok now you want to go there. First I have a wife, secondly it has a LOT to do with common sense of which obviously appears that you have none. 2 people have answered your inane newbie question. Will I write you a guide, HELL NO, especially when there is perfectly good guide to your left. Yet you come here like every other punk ass kid, wants someone to hold your hand, & walk you through step by step of how to do something instead of getting off ya lazy ass to figure it out yourself! If these things to your left are things you claim don't need to read. Then why are you in here asking the question...ooo thats right, you covered that already
    im clueless!!
    my stupidity!!
    yes you are!

  18. HaHa  your makin me laugh man tellin me that you got a wife and shit your so ridicules. Gaydiddy some advice instead of talkin all that garbage and bragin about your common sense take care of your wife  i bet she is frustrated and dissatisfied becuase you got nothing else to do then expandin your "common sense" and avoidin to get your ass kicked by makin your neighbour his work
I do it for my neighbor who has this player, and it works fine!!!!!

P.S: I can write you a tutorial how TO MAKE YOUR WIFE SMILE AGAIN!!

    KISS MY LAZY ASS!!! DUMBAZZ!!!!!!!!!

Please tell me your pitiful ass can you do better than this. So lame you can't even use the emoticons right, no fuckin wonder you can't figure out to encode a mpeg2 with a VCD header. You are en example of yet another reason that newbie post should never read, let alone answered.

  20. SO WHY THE **** YOU READ IT AND EVEN REPLY????
Should I tell you why cause im the only one dont ignorin your lonely ass.
You cant wait for me to answer back. So here is my answer: F U !!!!!

Greet your wife n by the way I did it with the mpeg2 without reading any of this things.
you can't even use the emoticons right
    8) :P somany as you want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ocelot#1, if you are too lazy to read the guides, this is the wrong place to ask. Go elsewhere.
