Hi,
I am looking for a video capture card that has 1394 connection and MPEG2 hardware encoder.
My system config is
CPU: P4 1.8GA
Motherboard: Abit BD7-RAID
Memory: 512 DDR
Graphics Card: Geforce4 Ti4600
Sound Card: SoundBlaster Audigy DE
Hard Disk: Two Maxtor 60G in Raid 0
I want to capture, edit and convert DV to VCD or DVD in a reasonable time not 5 to 10 hours for 120 minutes video. Does anybody has any suggestion in which capture card and software I can use and how much?

all i can recommend is get a seperate 1394 card it'll save you money. And 5h for 120min video is not bad... takes me 2hr to convert 6minutes 2 dvd format...

It might be faster if you stated your rough budget, a "not-to-exceed" price (true mpeg-2 encoding hardware can range anywhere from "kind of expensive" to "omygodthatsalottamoney"). Do you have any sort of total project expense in mind?
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."
