  1. I was backing up a dvd so i ripped a title i wanted to my drive with smartripper. out of curiousity i opened up tmpeg and browsed to where i ripped the files. to my surprise a file was visible through the masks a d2v file i believe. i loaded it up and there was my dvd. start to finish i scroleld through it with the preview as though it was one big file. not 3 vob files. i thought that was way cool i even started an encode to see if it would work. and it did. so later on i went back into tmpeg? it wont work now. it reports the d2v file as invalid. whats up with that? was it that i had some freak miracle that will never happen again or that i now have a problem with tmpeg?

Smartripper WILL make a .d2v file when it rips, however it does NOT give you the .wav file neccessary to encode a movie. Continue using DVD2AVI to make a .d2v and a .wav for TMPEGnc to encode...

I just delete the .d2v that smartripper makes myself.

And if TMPEGnc is not "recognizing" your .d2v files, increase the Vfapi plugin's priority under 'enviromental option'.

    Good luck

  3. oh well i knew it was too good to be true heh

now that d2v file you mentioned if i were to include that in a video_ts folder. would that prevent prassi from allowing me to burn? i have no problems with my a03 burning dvd's with dvdit reeldvd and mydvd but i cant seem to get nero or prassi to burn a dvd. both abort right away. it doesent even start to burn. nero with a failed file reallocation error and i think prassi just said file error nothing else. could it be the inclusion of that foreign file in the video ts folder that smartripper makes?

  5. Hmmm....I must have a different version of Smartripper, as when I rip a dvd it doesnt produce a .d2v file. Just .vob and .ifo. If it does produce a .d2v, maybe it is so you can preview it to see if the rip was successfull or if it has the sections of the movie you want (ie episodes)..
