I want to mux an mkv remux of a movie to mp4 so I can play it on my tv.
I used MkvToMp4, however it puts the audio in AAC stereo with aroun 224 kbps bitrate.
What setting or other software do I need to use to keep the original audio from the mkv, for instance AC3 384 kbps 6ch.
    Is this even possible?
Also the bitrate drops with around 1 Mpbs when I use MkvToMp4. Is this normal or can I do something about this.

Just to be clear, I want to put an mkv file into mp4 with minimal loss of video and audio quality.
    Thx in advance.

If your video isn't H264, it will be reencoded. If your video bitrate is too low, raise it. If you don't know what you have, open the MKV in MediaInfo and post the text file from it here. AC3 audio can be passed through without reencoding. Turn off AAC audio encoding.

it's working now, selected AC3 pass-through and now I get the original audio into the m4v, is there a way to use mp4 as output format? I can't find the setting for it atm

  4. M4V is an Apple extension. In the Video section choose MP4 as your output format.
