  1. Hi guys, I'm trying to follow the guide for cutting but I just can't understand it right. I'll go into some detail as to what I am doing.
The mpeg I have made from the ripping/converting process is to big to fit on a CD-R. So I'm wanna cut it at 1 hour into the movie burn that and then the rest of the movie burn to another disk. In order to do that do I have to open 2 different movie.mpeg files in the TMPGEnc/Merge & Cut section or do I just need one file there and edit it? I tried using 2 of the same files to cut it but after 60 some percent into it the program froze. When I went to my folder where the " OUT " file was it had the first hour of the movie there. Did I corupt it by having 2 of the same files? If so can someone please go into more detail on how to cut the file. I just don't understand how sefy split it in his demonstration. Thanks, Josh

  2. Josh, which guide for cutting ? I don't yet have one on VCDhelp.
As for your problem, which program are you using ? and what do you mean two files of the same name ? did you create the new file ontop of the old one?

  3. Hi sefy. I just assumed you did this section also ---> How to Cut/Join with TMPGEnc. I was following that. I'm using TMPGEnc 2.53. What I mean by 2 files as the same was I clicked " add " 2 times to bring up two of the same files. It was kind of an experiment to see if it wouldn't freeze up.
I did how ever section the mpg off at start to 1:00:00 that went fine. I closed the program and started again but this time I set start as 1:00:00 and end at 1:25:34 during the process it froze up on me. I've tried it twice. I'm up for suggestions. Josh

  4. Nope, I haven't done that one, but my updated guide does contain how to cut, but not how to join

Regarding your problem, you might have a few frames that are bad, and that is what's causing all this problem for you.

  5. Hi sefy. You have been a big help. The guide you created was fanominal. It's made the DVD to VCD process easy. I did find an easier way to cut the mpeg. I was trying to follow the guide for tmpgenc on how to cut and my program kept freezing. So what I did was when using tmpgenc I did not convert the whole movie I just did the first hour or so and found a good spot to stop. Then I went back after it was done making the mpeg and started over but this time I started the conversion from where I left off from the last mpeg. That way I'll have 2 "out" mpegs and will not have a problem with Nero burning them. When I converted the whole file Nero did not want to burn it cause there was way to much info for one disk to handle. This process also saves on the hassle of setting your buring program from doing all the stuff it shouldn't have to do. For example setting it up for over burn ect... Maybe the only bad thing is you'll have to deal with the interuption during the movie but hey I can live with that. Sefy thanks again for the work you have done. Josh :D

  6. So basicly you used the Source Range ?
Didn't you find that in the guide ? That is what I always recommand people, to use the Source Range instead of doing the whole movie, and then being forced to cut it off later.

But i'm glad you find the guide usefull, hopefully v2.0 will be available on VCDhelp, and i've made that one even easier to use, and just about any and every method is there
