  1. I've killed most of my day today trying to play/burn svcds...

I've talked to a lot of people and tried a lot of programs and codecs.

I've gotten some movies in .bin images.. burned them with proper .cue files (made sure everything is in mode2) and it still doesnt work..
    here's what happens:

When i burn a svcd with cdrwin (from a .bin image) the cd is not recognized by any cd-roms.. i've tried a dvd-rom, cd-rom and a cd-rw all say that the cd is invalid or "not acessible because of a I/O device error"

I've also tried extracting the files from the image with WinISO and tried many codecs to play them, all give me the same result - messed up sound and "scrambled" ( green blocks or some kind of blocks covering the whole picture.. i can see that there is a picture behind it but it's unwatchable) video.

So i'm frustrated.. burned about 5 cds today and all ended up in my garbage can.

Please help me out with this stuff... i simply ran out of ideas and dont know what to do.

Oh yea.. the weird thing is that the samples (smaller files in .mpg format) play perfectly..

so there.. some material for all you seasoned SVCD people.

  2. I'm not an SVCD person, but I am a troubleshooter person
So, 1, get a CDRW! man! why waste all those CDR media! they may be cheap, but come on! get a CDRW and experiment on it!

Secondly, use ISObuster to extract the MPG file from the BIN, and use something like PowerDVD or WinDVD to see if the file is good or not, do NOT attempt to use Media Player, it has problem with SVCD playback!.

If you can do that and come back and tell us the file played good, then we can move on
