    Hi all,

As someone new to DV I have experimented with a number of packages to do MPEG2 conversion. I can see the difference between every other package (in about the $200 range) and TMPGEnc in about 10 seconds. Since you usually get what you pay for, I would like to know if TMPGEnc is really that good, or have I just not found the right authoring package yet?

    Thanks for your replies,
    Michael

TMPGenc is really that good, maybe the best, or at least the best I have seen.

  3. I can't tell you how they compare, but I can tell you that, for what you get for free, no 200$ package can beat ;o)
