I have done a BD50-to-BD50 1:1 (theoretically) copy with Aurora Blu-Ray Copy from Carrie original Blu-Ray to a TDK BD50.
However, the copy protection (Cinavia?) seems to detect my BD, since it displays the following message: "Your Blu-Ray player needs upgrading in order to play this video".
What's going wrong? This is not a rip. The copy protection has been copied along with the new BD, which is protected as well.
All other BD copied using Aurora Blu-Ray copy seem to work properly.
What can I do to make Carrie play? And, what do I need to 1:1 copy a BD to a BD-R ?

You must remove the cinavia protection. You could try latest dvdfab beta.

 DVDFab 9.2.2.1 Beta is out!

New: Introduced the brand new CinaviaRemoval HD option to completely and permanently remove Cinavia watermark with Blu-ray Copy and Ripper.
 More Info: http://www.dvdfab.cn/cinaviaremoval_hd.htm

Or that message is probably not cinavia related.

Can you play the original without the upgrade warning? Because newer blu-rays might require blu-ray player upgrades.

Let's write some thoughts about this:

 1) My BD player is a SONY (BDP-S5500) and Carrie is produced by Screen Gems which is a SONY company. Cinavia? Seems to be.
 2) My BD player has been updated to the latest firmware (not a major one). The warning is still present, but it doesn't state "This content is protected by Cinavia and therefore is not authorized on this BD player". Cinavia? I don't know.
 3) It's a backup copy, the original one is so scratched it won't play at all.

 Therefore:

I would give DVDFab + CinaviaRemoval a try.

I'm a newbie in video authoring, please correct me where I'm wrong:

 Steps:
 1) Rip the content to .mkv
 2) Encode it with DVDFab (important! I want to preserve original BD50 quality!) + remove Cinavia with CinaviaRemoval
 3) Rebuild BD structure and burn

 How... do I do this?

Carrie does not have cinavia protection, I'm almost positive that Aurora Blu-Ray Copy won't remove cinavia, Was your disk scratched before you tried to do a copy? I think you just got a bad 1 to 1 copy.

No it won't work with cinavia protected disks, You can make a copy but as Baldrick said the backup won't work, The sound will be muted, Your SONY BDP-S5500player detects cinavia, For any backup cinavia disk to work you need DVDranger or AnyDVD or the new DVDFab programs, Their the only one's I know of to work.

	Not Cinavia
You cannot copy the AACS protection to another disc (your burner is not licensed)
Bad disc is most probable reason
-
I've tried using MakeMKV to analyze the files, and found this message while ripping them:

"AACS folder not found, considering the disk as not encrypted"

(or a similar one, my app is in Italian)

So Aurora Blu-Ray Copy removes AACS while making the .ISO file.

Still cannot understand why the red screen of death.

I googled it and found something about BD+ copy protection. May this be the case?
-
	Another attempt:

I've tried playing the BD with my Blu-Ray burner SAMSUNG SE-506CB/RSBD and Macgo Blu-Ray Player, with the copy and the ripped BDMV folder (from the copy). Both don't play. Macgo BRP is unable to start playing the files.

I think I've gotten a bad disk. I will buy an original Carrie BD again, and try to copy it. How do I achieve this with the right apps?

AnyDVD HD + CinEx HD (for Cinavia) + ??? (how do I rebuild the structure of a BD?)

Is BD Rebuilder the right app for this?
-
Bad disk or your Aurora Blu-Ray program needs updated, My opinion is you should never have to update your players to play a movie, Believe it or not there is some folks still without the net an they would be screwed, I would go with AnyDVDHD and rip the movie to hard disk first then burn to a blank disk, I never had much luck trying to do a 1 to 1 copy with 2 bluray burners, As gonca suggested BD Rebuilder is an excellent program but you only need it if your going to shrink the movie to fit on a BD25gb disk.
