I have Apple TV, with a High Def TV and regular DVD player
I want to upgrade to Blu-Ray
Will I still be able to play my regular DivX and XVid files on a Blu-Ray player. What other formats is it wise to make sure it supports.

Almost all Blu-ray players offer better media file support than DVD players.
Before you buy a Blu-ray player, go to the manufacturer's website of the model you are interested in and download the user's manual. It will tell you the codecs and containers the player supports.
Since you mention Divx and Xvid, make sure it supports avi.
H.264 in MKV and MP4 containers are widely used. -
Lot of blu-ray players will only play the xvid avi and not divx.
I think,therefore i am a hamster.
