    Could you make a DVD, including video clips,with pro show gold and would it be easier to work with than vegas? Or is it just for making slides of still photos?

    My opinion: In contrast to Proshow Producer, the Gold version doesn't support keyframing which disqualifies it compared to Sony Vegas.

    would producer be better for a film consisting of stills and clips of video .mov files?

    Couldn't say without knowing more about your intentions. But Proshow Gold/- Producer/Sony Vegas all have trial versions so you could try them and form your own opinion.
