In this still from VirtualDub, 'R' (repeat?) frames are indicated - but the information tag doesn't define them.
Is this a Virtualdub 'heads-up' ?
AviDemux indexes the file and doesn't show them.
The creator has completely shut down the old site so no searching there.

There is also [M] as 'Masked Frame'
Do you have any plug-ins installed that could possibly alter this ? My take on [R] = 'Reference' -
VirtualDub doesn't open mpeg2 without a plugin, so I suppose it's possible.
Here's a few frames. -
Yes , tried that, it removes pulldown frames without asking - not that I'm complaining?
