    They have the feature in settings to not have this happen by leaving the option unticked, yet it still disables no matter what. Is there some hack to get around this?

    PowerDVD uses a protected path and video overlay performed by the graphics card when playing commercial Blu-Rays to prevent screen capture software from recording the video. I suspect that Aero doesn't work when the video card is using overlay mode.
