  1. i bought a pioneer ao3, i also bought some dvdr at £1.69ea, when i rip films using dvddecrypter, and then use ifoedit to edit them, i then burn with nero 5.5.7.2, i find that the dvdr jump in my dvd about halfway through them. Could it be that the cheap dvdr are crap or the software isn't working aswell as it should. I have had some films work fine but only about 20% are okay. The same applies to backing up files on my pc there is always one folder that will not open, can this have anything to do with win98 and the 4gb limit on fat32 formatted drives?HELP PLEASE!

    Thanks Homer2067 :(

  2. i'd make sure your drive is well vented it's a cause of many of the problems with the ao3. I'd also buy a good disk just to make sure...

  3. I have the same problem with the 104. The $2 disks are good for the first hour or so, then after that point they will not play any more. The video starts to skip forward faster and faster until the DVD stops playing. This is only a problem with the cheap DVD-R's, and does NOT happen with the Apple or Pioneer disks. Strange that there can be such a big difference between the cheap and expensive disks. Also, the cheap disks will ONLY burn at 1X, while Apple and Pioneer does 2X.

  5. I've got the A03 and don't have any problem with it. I get my blank media at www.cd-recordable.com . You can optimize the discs you get by telling the guys at the sight exactly what you're going to use the disc to record, and what you're going to record them with. I have some of the expensive Pioneer DVD-R's that will only play in my Pioneer unit, but all the discs I got from cd-recordable.com play in my Pioneer stand-alone AND my portable RCA and Panasaonic units, which aren't supposed to play DVD-R's at all. I had a little problem with some pixelation recording "The Relic" off of laserdisc with TMPGenc at 3000kb/sec, but I recorded "Joe's Apartment" off laserdisc at about 4000kb/sec (movie is about 90mins) with no artifiacts at all. I attribute this good behavior to the discs.
