At first: I just got this player ... they sold it with a paper telling that you can make the player codefree by typing 8-9-2-6-0 and then open the tray. Don't know if it works 'cause i have no region-code DVD at the moment.

The player looks pretty fine: no ESS Chip. very good OSD. Cool MP3 Support with ID3 and so on CD-R and RW compatibility.... and in fact it was pretty cheap! ;)

There's just one (huge) problem. Officially the Player does not support SVCD. When i insert a SVCD the player detects it correctly as SVCD. The Display got a special "Super" before the normal VCD - Icon und the OSD also says that he's going to read this disc as an SUPER Video Disk. After loading the playback starts, but without Sound I can switch the Audio source between 2 unknowen ressources, but still hear nothing.
Next Problem is, that the playback is not fluid (dunno the right englisch word. german: es ruckelt halt n bischen).

The next (little) Problem is, that the MP3 Playbackquality seems to be pretty low. (OK - I don't think I'll use this too often)

My Question:
Since SEG offers firmware updates on their website: Is there a chance to make the player play my SVCDs correctly, when i flash a new firmware? (There's none available, yet.)
Is it possible that this firmwareupdate also increases the mp3-playback qualitiy?

Thnx so far & CU LC!
