Animated Gif -> Webm tool

Searched the forum and did not come up with a definitive answer. I am in need of a decent tool for converting animated gifs to webm format. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

define "decent tool" - in terms of what characteristics ?

ffmpeg can do it, so one of the GUI's based on ffmpeg should be able to do it

For me, decent would mean, GUI with a fairly straightforward interface. My need for this will be sporadic which means I will not remember a complex procedure from conversion to conversion and I will need to relearn, each time, a more involved process.

What kind of "webm" ? e.g vp8, vp9 ? Now different chroma subsampling is supported as well, such as 4:4:4

By default , an "easy" conversion will convert it to yuv 4:2:0, using vp8 . vp9 isn't as widely supported everywhere yet

Probably easy to use and fairly popular is winff, tencoder, ffqueue - but you might have to customize the specific webm profile settings that you want to use and save it

Start with ffqueue and see if you like the GUI - its easy to use, offers customizable options

Thanks for your suggestions. After figuring out why I could not get ffmpeg to work on my system, I was able to utilize ffqueue with some success. It allowed me to create an MP4 file (attached) but I was not able to figure out how to create a webm file. I am wiped out and will tackle it tomorrow. Thank you for your kind assistance!

For ffqueue:

1) add your video
2) where it says "preset command lines" push the "..." button
3) push "new" to create a new preset
4) video tab => select VP8, then customize the options like bitrate
5) audio tab => select vorbis, and your bitrate
6) enter a name for the preset like "vp8/vorbis 1000kbps webm" or whatever, push ok
7) back on the main page, select your preset
8) enter output file name destination and name e.g. myfile.webm, push save job
9) push start


So who "wins" the "fight" ?
