Up until now all my rendering for DVD has been standard MPEG2 (SD) DVD's .... all successfully completed.
I use Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 ... and it has option in templates to render MainConcept HD Video (as well as Blu-Ray)
As my source material is HD ... 1920x1080,32, 25fps
Does that mean I can could use HD video template adjust to match source media ... and render (elementary streams) and this if placed on a DVD will play on a standard DVD player ?
Or will standard DVD player be unable to handle 1920 x 1080 ?
Assume I would have to render down to 720 x 576
I know a Blu-Ray discs will offer me more space, but if a Type 5 disc will allow fit of Render would it be better choice when creating discs for others many do not have Blu-Ray players, or am I thinking erroneously.

Standard dvd players can not play HD.
But you could output as bluray/avchd, burn on dvdr media and many bluray players will play it. -
OK the fact that standard players can't play it is the issue ... thanks for clarification
For myself I can play it as HD ... it was when sharing copiesLast edited by Tafflad; 26th May 2015 at 07:32.
