Hello,
Recently my Hard drive crashed and lost lot of movies. By using a Recovery software I recovered all the movies but few of them (~ 20% of them) have problems. Please find below one movie's MediaInfo and screenshot for better understanding of the problem. Could anyone please advise how to fix these videos.
Screenshot: this is how I see the movie which is taken with "Print screen" button. If I take snapshot from VLC, the resultant screenshot looks fine.

So you can play the files but they look like that?
Do you have a short video sample with a broken video?
Recovering several GB data may cause such problems and it may be VERY difficult to fix all data. -
Thanks Baldrick for the reply.
Yes I can play and it looks like that. I don't have sample but 700MB video file. Could you please advise how to cut small piece from it (plz suggest a software to do so) so I can share it with you? Also please let me know how much length you would need as sample.

You can cut with makesample. But only from the start to a specific file size.
Or else use avidemux, open video, scroll through it and see if it crashes or if it looks good in the preview. If it doesn't crash and the video looks fine it's not broken.
