  1. So It seems I am kindof stuck as to the best route to go in order to be able to make 3d Blu Ray Backups...

I have Anydvd Hd with clone bd as well as DvDfab but there are others out there such as imgburn etc

It seems that Slysoft doesnt support 3d blu ray yet or the full audio but dvdfab does(which i have been currently using)..

For some reason I feel that AnyDVD HD has better support for decryption? Is this a good assumption as I used it in the past for DVDs and loved it....

Since you cannot use both those programs at once I would love some input as to my best route to go....

Also this may be very important as well... I currently have on the way some BD DL 50gb so converting shouldnt really be an issue although I do like that option if I have to use a single layer bd in a pinch... Would probably use the dual layers for all my 3d blu ray backups but possibly the single layers for regular 2d blu rays

With that said though alot I may want to reauthor out the previews atc to go for just the main movie or customize it etc etc

Also reading a bit about cinex as well as cinavia etc etc and they currently do not offer 3d support either... any suggestions on this considering I will be using dual layer discs??

Lastly I do not plan on watching theese backups on the computer but a stand alone blu ray player(which isnt a ps3 but friends who have them may want backups for thiers as well)

I have an old Blu Ray Player a Vizio VBR334 which is pre-cinavia so I shouldnt have that protection problem..

Lastly for converting some things say to get rid of hd audio or convert to aa3 or somthing similair to that with no real loss of sound...

Whats the best option to pick? I currently do have a 7.1 surround system in my living room(minus the subwoofer)... BUT this is where it gets confusing... the blu ray player in order to watch the 3d blu rays has to be directly hooked up to the television which in turn i have from the tv(which is a vizio 3d tv..) sent to a sony audio reciever....

Does it matter what device supports the playback of audio? The blu ray player the tv(which is muted) or the reciever?

My BLU Ray player specs are this if this helps

Audio decoding Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital+, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD, DTS
    Audio channels 7.1

do I also need toworry about the reciever too?
    thats a sony str-dg720

    dts® Decoding: Yes
    Dolby® Digital Decoding: Yes
    Dolby® Digital EX Decoding: Yes
    dts®-ES Decoding: Yes
    dts® 96/24 Decoding: Yes
    dts® NEO:6 Decoding: Yes
    Dolby® Pro Logic® Decoding: Yes
Dolby® Pro Logic® II Decoding: Yes
Dolby® Pro Logic® IIX Decoding: Yes
    Digital Cinema Sound™Technology: Yes

    Thanx for all your help!

Where do you read the anydvdhd doesn't support blu-ray 3d? Try the trial at leat and see how it works.

And you can try shrink with bdrebuilder. It claim to have 3d support.

  3. its not so much anydvd hd as all that program seems to do is clear all the protections its the burning authoring software after which I have to use... such and clone bd a slysoft product from elaboryte bytes..

In the past I used anydvd and clonedvd for dvds... figured I would do the same only this time with anydvd hd and clonebd but clone bd doesnt support 3d OR h.265/hevc(whatever that is)... DVDfab does off this support when it comes to authoring a disc but you cannot run anydvdhd with dvdfab....

Use AnyDVD to Rip/Decrypt the 3dbd to ISO, with NO conversion. Done. Perfect 1:1 backup made.

If you don't really mean that, then use DVDFab/BDRebuilder/etc. to "rip" (aka convert) the ripped ISO contents to some format you intend to use (MKV, etc).

I didnt see that option to use AnyDVD HD to actually " rip" make an iso of the blu ray... For instance I put in my movie into the player... Any dvd detects it... lists the information... But there is no option to "rip" it so I am confused by your response... Dont I need to use infact a second program after using anydvd? This is the question I had in the begining... whats a very good program for this ripping? One that offers 3d support and full hd audio etc etc... Its fine if it make a 40gb iso file to my computer which in turn then I can use any program(that hopefully also supports 3d) to "reauthor" it... Slysoft states that it doesnt offer 3d blu ray supoprt for clone bd but if I am making a 1:1 copy using thier software it it infact keeping the 3d structure still in place? Is it only when I need to compress or configure my blu ray that I run into the problem? I am a bit confused with that part?

Maybe I didn't make myself clear enough.
    AnyDVD decrypts.

Use any decent ripper or "disc imager" (incl. ISOBuster) - on top of AnyDVD - to create the ISO, as long as it gives you a true 1:1 disc image. This is quite important, because, in a 3dbd, there is "duplication" in the assets: the M2TS file pairs and the SSIF files point to the same sectors on-disc. So for example (made up) 0001.M2TS (the L/Main stream) and 0002.M2TS (the Dependent stream) - or likely vice-versa in order - together sequentially point to the same areas that the 0001.SSIF (and possibly 0002.SSIF) file points to.
If you are keeping the proper 3d structure in place, you will know it because the size will not grow. A 35GB 3dbd would still be a 35GB ISO, but if copied file-by-file (instead of being imaged), it might be 45, 50, maybe 70GB!
When you're doing ONLY this segment, you don't need "3d support" or "full hd audio", you just need an app that can "image" a disc (sector copying, not file copying), to ISO.

Again, once you've created your image, you can elect to just keep it that way, or if you must convert it, use an app that works with 3dbd assets to decompress & recompress and remux. Then is when you need the 3D support. And, yes, if you are converting your audio then, you'd need "full HD audio" support in order to properly decompress & recompress.

    Better?

  7. Yes Thank You Scott Thats what I figured what I needed to do... I was asking though everyones opinion on what is one of the best programs out their to use for the iso copy? I figure I will use anydvd hd no matter what to decrypt the copy protection etc etc then burn to a full 1:1 iso image... Which software is one of the best in terms of speed without errors etc? Imgburn? clonebd? etc etc... which will keep everything intact minus the decryption? Again I will be using mostly BD-dl discs so keeping those large isos shouldnt be a problem

Then after I'll worry about compressing remuxing etc etc etc.. I went into detail about the audio part because why bother wasting all those gigs of data(which slows time making the disc) as well as wasting dual layers discs when possibly even being able to fit a blu ray that is slightly over 25gigs to a single layer blu ray if my current sound system doesnt even support the newer true hd etc etc... If converting to ac3 is good enoough.. Thanx all for the help!

    I'd go with ImgBurn.

If you are going BACK to DL BD-R, use ImgBurn also for the burning. Done!

You'll have to be your own judge with the audio vs. size priorities.
