hey, i saw this posted somewhere on the boards a while ago but i can't seem to find it again so can someone tell me how to enable dma for my hard disk on windows xp.

I don't think you can in WinXP.
In Win98SE, you go to Device Manager and look at the Properties of the hard drive. If you do this in WinXP, it does show what mode it is in, don't think you can change it though. -
You Can also do it in Win XP. Goto control panel> system>hardware> click device manager button, click on IDE ATA ATAPI controller then click on PrimaryIDE channel, then click on advance settings tab. you then can enable DMA on each drive of that channel, repeat for the secondary IDE channel. You have primary and Secondary.
