  1. I never really shot with a P2 card camera before...so last night I took all the files from the Panasonic camera and transferred them over to my computer.

I have these MXF files. And, I tried using a free MXF converter for mac...but it sped up my video during the conversion by a lot. And, I played around with different frame rates, the result was still the same.

Anyone have any MXF converter suggestions or know how to fix this problem during conversion?

  2. P2 isn't just a bunch of mxf files, it's a structured file content system. You want to copy the entire folder structure.

First go to the Panasonic website and download the proper mac software. Then figure out which major NLE you want in order to use the files correctly. FCPX is probably your least expensive choice. Also useable on Mac: Avid Media Composer, Premiere Pro.

  3. No shit. I transferred the exact structure to my desktop. But, Mxf is what I want. It's the container for video.

Anyways, I already figured out on my own.

It was just a whacky mxf converter program. I found out that I actually do have the full adobe suite which includes the media encoder. And, it has been working fine now with getting the mxf files into a video format.
