Since the turbulent times of late August and early September this year, I have strived for greater meaning in my posts. It is with this, my 4,000th post in fact (and instant life membership of Post Whores Anonymous, so I’m told ) that I felt the need for a bit of back-slapping for all those who have contributed in their own special ways

I’m sure there are those who are thinking something like “WTF is this novel” or “Why the **** does he do this” raa raa raa…. to those people I suggest you hit the X in the top right – this thread is not for you . For those who are pissed with what I say about them, remember this is only my opinion. If you feel I’ve got something wrong, please PM me.

I wish to thank all and sundry who have helped me get here, but specifically (in no particular order of preference):

Baldrick – Without your vision some 4 or so years ago, none of the world we have known as VCDHelp, DVDRHelp and now Videohelp would exist. Your ability with php quite simply staggers me, and matches your passion to continue to provide this wonderful resource and meeting place with a minimum of fuss and at the right price. Thank you very much and keep up the good work

Lordsmurf – Your years of experience shine through with your hands-on practical advice and recommendations. I think you do a fantastic job of critiquing almost anything video-related and that companies should be giving you a trail for every referral they get out of you, especially ATI.

Indolikaa – Your writings are already legendary around here, but I wanted to take this occasion to thank you personally for your undying love of entertaining others (and more importantly, yourself) with musings both factual and fictional. Also your quick wit and willingness to participate in friendly jibes is greatly appreciated and enjoyed. It really brightens my day.

Capmaster – Your post-whoring abilities are legendary around here , but I wanted to take this occasion to thank you personally for all the advice on both personal matters and matters that relate to the forum in general. Always willing to participate in a joke and very conscientious in looking out for the greater good of this world we call the forum.

Northcat_8 – Your liberal use of the word “fucker” has provided me with so many moments of unbridled mirth. Not to mention your insight into the teaching profession. A super quick wit and a willingness to please the audience at any cost is greatly valued by yours truly. Get back to work you slack ******

Yoda313 – Your obsession with Star Wars and your “boy next door” persona make reading your posts very enjoyable. You never say a bad word about anyone and are really a credit to yourself for your exemplorary behaviour around the forum. I admire you for your willingness to learn about topics you lack knowledge in, and always take a joke in the spirit in which it was intended.

Will Hay – Words cannot describe my feelings for you…….. printable words, that is Your quick wit and gutter mouth make a lethal combination at times but at least no-one dies wondering where they stand. I think your attitude stinks when there is nothing in it for you, but I guess if we were all the same life would be pretty boring.

FulciLives – It has been almost two months since your last post so one must wonder what has happened. Your last post mentions a hardware failure, but I doubt you would let that hold you back. Your video expertise coupled with an opinion on everything and everyone made you one of the hardest posters to read IMO. I never knew if you were going to pay someone out or help them.

Gitreel/Bazooka – At times I think you’re a bit too intense and let your emotions get in the way of some very informative and educated posts. Stick to what you know and let the wankers be wankers. The egg will end up all over their faeces .. umm … faces. Overall, I am always interested in your point of view, with myself doing a very similar role employment-wise.

Mats.hogsberg – Your patience and willingness to help NOOBs out no end absolutely staggers me at times. Time and time again I will have shouted out aloud “Read The ******* Manual, for fuck’s sake!”, there you’ll be in the next post, offering a suggestion. It is a real credit to yourself and truly indicates to me your kind nature and willingness to share your knowledge.

d_unbeliever – At times I am really perplexed by a number of your questions. That said, if you were a creative consultant for an up-and-coming software company looking for that revolutionary breakthrough product, I’m sure you’d come through with the goods with the different angle you provide

Teegee420 – While 6 months have passed since your unexplained permanent absence from the forum, your legend lives on long after. One only has to look at the number of signatures with a reference to your good self to see that you made an incredible impact in your time here. Rest assured that you will be welcomed back with open arms if you ever make it back. R.I.P.

Well, if you’ve made it this far , you are not the Off-Topic post whore you think you are I’m sure there will be much debate about the points I’ve raised and possibly even some negative feedback but that is unavoidable. Once something is put into an open forum, there will always be detractors, wanted or not. Hopefully most people take this post and my comments in the spirit in which they were intended …….constructive. After all, it is only one opinion.

In true literary and forum fashion, this rounds off nicely at 1,000 words .
