I am looking for programs which can take a live (real-time) video feed (ie. from webcam or digital camera hooked to PC)... and overlay/mix another (pre-recorded) video.

There's 3 programs I found I think can do this sort of thing:
    1. http://avtake.com/ (not tested yet)
    2. http://vmix.com.au/ (I tested and works with webcam)
    3. http://algoriddim.com/vjay (not tested yet)

and I think maybe http://avs4you.com/ is possible to do. Is there anymore programs that can do this sort of task?

  2. Hi,

let me share the image and text overlay module I am working on currently here. This is called Clamp and this is a add-on for Wowza Streaming Engine. This tool is focuses on adding live captions and image overlays (even animated gifs!) on any stream that you publish in your Wowza server.

The way it works is that Clamp monitors a file or executes an arbitrary SQL query periodically, to see if any new instructions are there. If it finds any, it parses the details, e.g. when shall it show the caption or image, for how long, where, opacity, font size, position, etc.

It leverages the Java API of the Wowza Transcoder AddOn, so you need to have license for that.

    Regards,

  4. Sorry, not meant to do that. When I Google around in this topic, this thread is always on the result list, and I saw that the original author already started a listing, which I thing worth amending. Feel free to remove this post if it violates any rules.
