  1. Just found this player in my local branch of Miller Brothers and it seems to play everthing I can give it.

DVD (obviously!), DVD-R, DVD-RW. SVCD and VCD on CD-R (any old cheap disks) and CD-RW.

Music CD and MP3 files burned on to a CD or DVD.

Just tried this and it even will play an .mpeg burned on to a PC format disk, you get a nice file picker a bit like Windows Explorer!

Dolby 5.1 output as well. Oh and Karaoke disks and you get 2 mic inputs so you can sing along when you're pissed!

Beats my Sony that I bought last year for versatility hands-down!

How much? £129.99 - This is too damn good to be true.

  2. Oh yeah, I forgot.

It has a switch on the remote for Auto/Pal/NTSC - so if you have an old TV that does not support NTSC format output, it'll play these in colour also.

One downside... haven't seen a multi-region hack yet. But it's a new player and there's bound to be one soon!

  3. To convert this player to Multi-Region

    1. Press the Setup button on your remote control
    2. Press the Stop button on the front panel of your unit
    3. Press the Previous button on the front panel of your unit
    4. Press the Next button on the front panel of your unit
    5. You should now be in a secret menu where you can change the region from 1 to 6, or Bypass for region free
    6. You can also disable Macrovision from this menu.
