  1. Hello.
    I have a sony DAV-S500 DVD player. All my VCD's work perfectly.
    But I've got some problems with SVCD's :
    - Every now and then there is a "crack" sound while playing the movie
    - audio and VIdeo are out of sync.

    But when I watch the same movies on my PC with POWERDVD, it works perfectly.
    I don"t know why It does this on my DVDplayer....
    I burn the SVCD's with NERO.

    Anybody has got some advice....

  2. I am surprised you are getting anything,according to the DVD
    compatiblity list your DVD player shouldn't play SVCD @ all
    You will have to settle for Xvcd @ a max bit rate of 2300

  3. hmm.. i don't know what ur DVD player suport , but u might want to try.. riping out the mpeg-2 video out of the bin/cue with VCDGear and then burn it with nero.. also try to burn it at one step lower of what ur max speed is on ur burner.. hmm.. if that still don't work's i guess u could always get a Dansai dvd palyer.. hehe ;P work's super'b when it work's that is..

    I have exactly the same problem on my Toshiba SD1300... I don't get the cracks in the sound u mention but the audio is out of sync, although it plays fine on my pc. I too burn using nero.
