Hi, I'm running Windows 8 64 bit.
No matter what player I use a video will always crash if I try to pause or rewind or do anything. It's ok for the first minute or two, but after that it will crash if I try to do anything. Sometimes the video will just freeze and or stutter. No matter what video I use or player this happens, although on occasion videos have played fine that previously crashed, but that's rare.
Please give me any advice you can, I can't stand this.
Thanks

Then it's most likely a graphics driver problem. Or possibly CPU or GPU overheating.

I agree with jagabo. Was windows 8 originally on the computer or installed later? If the latter you may not have the right video driver. Aftermarket windows just comes with generic drivers.

It may be hardware too. Does it act OK otherwise? What are the machine specs?

Windows 8 was originally on, and has been for a while, this is a recent thing, ever since I got my 980 I think. Everything seems to be fine except for this one problem with videos.

From your information, I would suspect the drivers for your GTX 980 card. Check with Nvidia to see if there is an undated driver. You can also check in 'Control Panel>Device Manager>Display adaptors>NVIDIA GTX 980>Properties>Driver' and see what driver the card is using. Maybe the wrong one or the generic MS driver.

I've updated my video drivers at least once since this began, it made no difference though.

Can you post specific crash log error?
if you don't know how to get log error: http://www.cyberlink.com/support/faq-content.do?id=10449
