  1. I am trying to rip episodes off a dvd and convert to vcd. I can not figure out how to do it. There are eight episodes on the dvd and eight vob files. But, each vob file is not a episode. My question is is it possible to rip each separate episode from the dvd. If so how? I have tried Smart Ripper, Vstrip, and Decess. Thanks for your help.

I dont know if you can rip each ep.

What you can do is rip your VOB's. Use DVD2AVI to make file for TMPG.

Then when you goto encode it use the source range option to have it encode just each ep at a time. Then save it and run a batch encode.

    -Hope this helps

  3. You should try to rip the chapters from the disc. Firstly check in your DVD player to see which chapters refer to each episode and then just rip those specific chapters into seperate folders on your hard drive.

  6. Yeah, forgot to say to split the .vob files into chapter as you rip a DVD. It's what I do all the time, although it does mean maybe 25 .vob files to encode rather than 4, but it allows for more flexibility.

  7. Well, thanks for all the help but I am still having a bit of trouble. I downloaded Smart Ripper from this site because I misplaced my original copy and it does not work. I tried one of the suggestions and looked for each chapter but there were 11 listed and only 8 episodes. I click and start and I get a program error. I am running Windows 2000 and updated my aspe layer. I
