  1. Hello guys,

    N00b needs help please.

I,ve tried several free editors but i cant figure out the best settings with least quality loss.
Last editor I've tried was VSDC Free Video Editor. But my file is 17,1 mbps and the editor only goes up to 10.000 kbps.

I just want to merge several video's i've shot to one playable HD file with some nice transitions and date text stamps.

For real I'm a noob in conversion settings and for all I know VSDC has all I want. But what settings should I use?
And if it doesn't, what (affordable) editor does the trick more than fine?

I use a HD samsung recorder. The outputfile is as following:

You can't get any good result with crappy editors.

Maybe time to find something better like moviestudio pro. You can get it from $40.

  5. If you're trying to make a DVD, there's a 10Mbs limit. If you're trying to edit and output at the same bitrate, you really want smart rendering which your files probably won't lend themselves to. If you just want a higher bitrate you can go uncompressed. What's so special about 17.1?

It's the total (probably average) bitrate of the file OP's swanky samsung recorded.
For the nth time, with the possible exception of certain Intel processors, I don't have/ever owned anything whose name starts with "i".
