How to crop video then move to split screen

Can not figure how to truly crop the video to then move its focal point.

To explain. I am trying to do a split screen before and after of someone walking following various changes to their walk. I can crop the view to just see the subject in the middle. How do you then cut it (sorry if wrong terms) so I can place the "center" of the video on the left side, and then do the same for the right side?
Theoretically I can cut each clips resolution so side by side they keep the full 1920 resolution width.

Any help much appreciated!

So, you're evidently using software of some kind. What might that be?

Here's a crude Avisynth script:

Left=DirectShowSource("video1.mts").crop(480,0,960 ,0)
Right=DirectShowSource("video2.mts").crop(480,0,96 0,0)
StackHorizontal(Left,Right)
