    i am unable to use virtualdub as on loading a valid avi it will not display the video.

    when converting, the preview screen is black and on playing back the file, the video is also black.

    tmpenc did similar on installing but i was able to get it working by increasing priority of directshow file reader under vfapi plugin.


    anyone any suggestions ?

    I'm having much the same issue... When I try and convert some AVI's to MPEG-1 for VCD using TMPENC, they turn out all black. So, I tried to seperate the Audio and Video and then recombine them in TMP, but when I open the AVI in an editing program (It plays fine in Windows Media Player) it just a black screen, but the audio works... Help anyone?

    Im using a div3 codec
    could it be that this codec is too new for virtualdub and TMPGEnc?
