recording dvd playback

Please can anyone kindly advise.
I would like to playback my dvd on the computer and put on the language of my choice along with the subtitles in that language and simultaneously record what is playing.
I understand blazevideo pro will do this but i tried the trial version - it wont do it.
Please can anyone advise: is there any free software that can let me do this .

I am trying to understand why you want to rerecord what you already have.

Let me get this straight.

You want to record a dvd as it plays back with subtitles that are already on the disk ?

If I got it right, the easiest way would be to record your computer screen - look at screen-capture software in the tools section.

If I got it wrong.........
