Hello!
Are there any software and container format which support FPS (frame per second) change without re-encoding??
Thank you for your reply!

As part of MKVToolnix the mmg program allows you to set the FPS to whatever you want and the output goes into an MKV container. I have no idea what will happen when you try to play such a file, but it's easy for you to get that program and try it. It's free.

Lots of software will accommodate that on a global (whole file) scale, through adjusting the header.

Do you mean that, or with multiple changes WITHIN the file?

If the latter, there is MUCH more to lose (timing/synchronization problems) than their is to gain (bitrate economy) to gain by attempting that.

DGPulldown for M2V/MPV, VDub (among others) for several types of video inside of AVI.

Sorry, but mkvtoolnix is unable to change the FPS.

MKVmerge is able to change even the playback rate of MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 video

(as long as neither the MKV splitter nor the MPEG-2 decoder is b0rked, bien entendu).

The image below indicates a VC-1 e.s., yes, but that's not the point, of course

But this is a not working option. It is just a decoration.

Here is the sample file: http://dictaphone.atw.hu/112.MTS

You are unable to change the FPS.

That's all about your "facts" ))) )))Last edited by Stears555; 12th Apr 2014 at 14:30.

What fps and containers do you want to use ?

FFMpeg can do most of them

You can still use mkvtoolnix, but you need to use timecodes on your file. Other h.264/AVC files do not necessarily need to . Do you see the box that says "timecodes"? You need use a v1 or v2 timecodes sheet. That's a fact

Transport streams do not support "off" or non standard frame rates. So if you wanted something like 34.567, you should use mp4 or mkv container
