  1. I'm rather new to encoding with CCE, but I've had quite a few good encodes so far but one problem keeps coming back every now and then.

I'm doing 4 pass VBR in CCE, frameserving with TMPGenc (for resize) and sometimes, around the end of first pass/beginning of second pass CCE will just stop and do nothing. The time elapsed keeps on climbing but nothing happens at all and it won't resume.

I'm on a 900 T-bird, 384 RAM Win XP and CCE 2.52. Any idea what might be causing this?

  3. What are your bit rate settings?

I believe I have had that problem when the avg and max were
too close together. CCE seems to get stuck in a loop.

    kevlar69,

    In the tools section :
A very good MPEG2(SVCD,DVD) Encoder but kinda expensive.

I had probs with CCE 2.5 in conjunction with DVD2SVCD stop working for me too. Mostly it happend on 3 CD/VBR 3 pass projects. Anyways I found since upping my ram from 256 to 512 that it now works.

  6. Avg Bitrate 2200, max 2496, min 300, 4 pass VBR. I'm not sure if that is the cause since it only happens on about one in 5 or so. I frameserv with TMPGenc by loading the file in TMPG, setting the size, saving project, converting with VFAPI and then loading it into CCE.

You probably seeing a parity error. There is a patch for this...and it will fix your problem

Look in www.doom9.org forum under Q&A for DVD2SVCD....i am assuming your using CCE ver 2.52
