    Does anyone know how to make the Toshiba BDX1400 Blu-Ray/DVD Player Region free? I received one as a gift and it is only set to Region 1. However, I see on Amazon and other places it is sold as a region-free DVD player. Does anyone know how you would go about making this DVD player Region free.

    not all dvd/bluray players can be made region free. if there is one for your player it would only be for the dvd side of the player.

    You can't. The region-free versions of Blu-Ray players sold online will have custom firmware and/or modified hardware installed by the specialty retailer selling them. Almost no Blu-Ray players are consumer-hackable for either DVD or Blu-Ray.
