Yeah that's pretty good, but aren't you worried of people stealing it?

Stealing it? Why would you steal it?

    Stock footage.

Anyway, it's really good. Very high quality too. Excellent.

OK, I finally watched the whole thing. The cactus was too good. So you were painting with light, but how did you dolly the camera. Can you give us your secrets?

Many thanks! So you recommend re-uploading the same one watermarked?

Yes, definitely watermark it. Too many good shots there and a lot of work. Some of the scenes can be looped to run indefinitely. Hahaha. One day you might see some campground ad on TV with your shots in the background.

Yes you are right, I don't really have time for copyright wars. Thanks for your suggestion.

Yeah, I'd use a small mark though. Just enough to discourage broadcast use. If somebody uses it in a wedding video, they could try to cover the mark, though, hahaha. I guess you can't be 100% safe.

Hey, when you're done, why not give us some "Director's Commentary"?

Well, the modern full frame cameras such as Canon Mark3 have enough resolution for track motion in pp. I am low budget, so I don't have any motion controllers such as sliders and motorized pan heads. There are a lot of cheaper ones but I still prefer to wait and save money for the professional equipment. So everything is done during post production.

I am glad you enjoyed my work and I am rendering the new video with a watermark

Oh, that's right, you shot a still sequence, not a video. I was wondering how the heck you got it so smooth, hehehe. And the night skies are probably very dark there, not a lot of city lights.

The scene with the white gazebo. You lit that up in post, right? A BumpMap?

And that cello music really works well. The cello is my favorite orchestral instrument. So expressive and emotional.

My wife really enjoyed that too. Thanks for sharing it.

Vimeo quality is so bad, seriously.. Just watched it myself in full hd and it is unacceptable.
White gazebo, I didn't light it its the exposure time increasing while it is getting dark and the artificial light from the restaurant becomes apparent. The skies have no light pollution but most of the time covered with haze or dust.

Vimeo is supposed to be the better option for online viewing. It's WAY better than U-Tube at least.

I agree, but we are still in a stone age for online streaming due to the majority of ISPs with poor speeds and elevated pricing.

No, we're not in a stone age for streaming, we're in a space age for cameras. Maybe 4K will put a fire under the ISP's asses.

Ha ha, I wish! But regarding time lapse shooting the camera settings and lense configurations are still in stone age. A simple firmware update by Canon to something similar to what Magic Lantern offers would shoot them to space right away as they do have the hardware already.

  17. Wow, definitely worth stealing (though I won't.) Beautiful.

As for Vimeo looking like crap -- it's really one of the better ones --even allowing users to download best resolution copies with the producer's permission.

Nothing ever looks as good online as it does in your NLE -- just a fact of life.

HEY! did those stars move backwards on that awesome waterfall?

Ha! Good catch! Yes they did, half a second before the skies disappeared from the view. I decided to leave this little imperfection for the guys like you to find A little more story to the film

  19. Some guys make an unattractive fetish out of catching stuff like that. I try not to think of myself as one of them.

I caught it because I watched the shot a few times. I've always liked that long-exposure flowing water look in stills and wondered if there isn't some way to get more of a sense of downward flow into it in a video context. I certainly understand the challenges (and never actually picked up the camera and tried to solve it myself.) But let me throw that thought into your hopper.

Again, really lovely work. I like the way the light played in that waterfall shot, and hope to see more racing cattle some some day.

Many thanks for the nice words. This clip is just a part of my full length film project, I already have some 12 minutes, hoping to finish it by Christmas but time lapses take a longer time. It will be a 20 minute film

Yes, I was thinking you must have used the intervalometer in ML.

great video/time laps, what camera, what software to stack images, have a go at panning shots with egg timer?, i made one for time laps, cost me about £5-$9, my cameras aint no where near as good a quality as the stuff you have done but its fun to play around with.

cheap camera at 5 second intervals so with your set up i think it would be outstanding with panning

I haven't used ML for this film but they do have smooth exposure increments there. AND they made it possible for the cameras to shoot RAW video! I want Canon to work on this as their cameras are able to perform way better. I wish I could also have a button that makes the lens manual, stopping the iris ring for all the TL sequence.
