Converting MOV to FLV. Screencast Footage, Artifacts?

Hello,

I have been trying to convert a .MOV file to .FLV.
The file keeps showing weird artifacts in the fade to black transitions and a weird pixelation that goes in and out.

I have been looking on forums to try to figure out how to make this go away all day long to no avail.

Post mediainfo on your source, and the target size and bitrate. Maybe you need to remux it only to flv container.

I saved the video from Camtasia to a .MOV file

Then I used Wondershare Video Converter to make an FLV
Flash Video 153 MiB, 8mn 57s
Overall bit rate 2 322 Kbps
2093Kbps, 960*720 (4:3) at 30.00fps

I am a noob creating web based training videos.
I want to place the videos on Moodle2.5.1 LMS.
For full screen capability I need the videos to be FLV format.
I also need the width to be smaller than the original recorded size. Smaller even than 960x720 if the details will still be visible when watched at full screen.
I would link to Vimeo, but it seems impossible to get the quality I want.

Quality doesn't have to be perfect, but since the content is screen cast of Adobe Illustrator work, viewers need to be able to see the UI details on the screen I am recording.

Let me know if you have any tips.
It seems like the video plays great for a few seconds then changes to a pixelated blurry look then back and forth for the whole video.
If there is a perfect codec and package for me please let me know.

I don't know Camtasia but first I'd check its help file, particularly how to record a video at target dimension I expect that Camtasia can write to flv directly, instead mov.

1.496 kbps is really low, even for mostly static material. Try 1000 times that.

I believe it's a typo, and it is 1496 kbps - see size of the mov file (another typo 95.8 MB).

Rerecording the video is not an option for me.
I need to take the existing video and make it look good as an FLV file.

The problem is that when you resize video it gets blurred, hence it's better to record it at target resolution.

I'd just change the container, and let the hosting site make conversion if necessary. If the result is not satisfactory then try to convert it yourself: Video to Video Converter, TEncoder, WinFF, XMedia Recode, etc.
