Hello everybody.
Sorry for my poor english, but i'd like to understand something about the width and height of the frames in some mkv i'm watching.
I have a pc with win7 and all shark007 codecs perfectly installed, and my problem is only with a few mkv files.
I can tell you that windows shows me the frames are 720/576 in the properties of the file. However, windows media player or other players play the file in 16/9 aspect ratio, and its very good aspect (how is it possible ?) ; but when i play the file on tv with it's own hardware player, the frames are rendered in about 4/3 format, according to the AR mentionned in the properties of the file in windows (and it's very bad aspect, the image is much too high).
I'd like to understand, and know if it's possible to correct it to 720/400 aspect and play correctly on both tv and media player on pc.
thanks a lot.

i'll perhaps give it a try.
You mean the player in windows correct the width/height according to display aspect ratio written in the properties? -
Basically, any frame size can hold any display aspect ratio:
DAR = FAR * PAR
DAR = Display Aspect ratio, the shape of the final displayed picture
FAR = Frame Aspect Ratio, the stored frame dimensions
PAR = Pixel Aspect Ratio, the shape of individual pixels
