Trying to perfect a technique to Burn DVDs to SVCD and I need your help.

Burn DVD with Smart Ripper.
Used DVD2AVI (1.7) with VPAI plug in
I was left with files, especially the db2 file that Panasonic won't read !!, so using TMPG. I really like Panasonic's simplicity.

Please help me with some of t he details, especially the DVD2AVI part.
So many options and approaches, so little time !!
