Hey friends,
I've been having a problem with few idx/sub subtitles files while I watch movies on my Full HD TV. Some subtitles gets skipped (is not displayed) in between, it happens only while watching 720p or 1080p movies. It plays perfectly fine on my laptop using vlc player. What is the reason and how should I fix it?

Just idx/sub subtitles?
You could convert them to srt text with for example subtitle edit. But you will lose subtitle font settings then. -
Yeah, only idx/sub subtitles.
When I use the .srt/.ssa subtitles the font in my TV is too tiny, almost unreadable. After searching online for that problem I came across how to convert .srt into idx/subs which solved the tiny font issue, now i can format the font, size, colour everything and plays well on my tv too except for this issue of subtitles getting skipped sometimes. I even tried hard coding the subs to the movie file but that is too time consuming and quality is affected too.
If not idx/subs, is there any other option by which I can custom font the subtitles? Dont want to hard code subs.

How do you create the sub/idx? It might be something wrong with that software.
You can create an .avi/.divx with xsubs with AVIAddXSubs. But it's only for divx/xvid video. -
I used the same software. I tried with an .avi file too have the same issue of subtitles getting skipped. I can view the complete idx/sub subtitles on .mkv/mp4 files for lesser resolution video files, its only 720p and 1080p videos where I face this issue.

Okay so now I tried another software txt2vobsub as a test to convert .srt to idx/sub, the subtitles are playing fine (it doesnt skip) but I keep getting the error "subtitle is too long. Please correct .srt and reload" to experiment I chose the smallest font. When played on the tv the position of the subtitles is in the centre of the screen.
Is there any setting how I can get the exact position and a proper font size without getting the error of editing the subs?? Or any other software which I can try to convert .srt to idx/sub?? Thanks in advance
