  1. I created a dvd with dvd-lab pro. I created a menu transition so that it goes from Menu A --> transition --> Menu B --> transition --> Menu C which is the main menu.

This works fine in my dvd players. But it doesn't work in VLC. It just repeats Menu A over and over and over again.

Anyone have any idea why this might be happening?

    TIA

Have you tried any other software dvd player like mpc-hc, powerdvd, etc?

Yes, I have in powerdvd. But it doesn't happen there. I'm wondering why it happens in VLC.

  4. You cannot test functionality of DVD with VLC player, it simply doesn't follow DVD spec navigation 100%.

Use pgcedit, load affected title from folder (disc works), then Info > dvd commands > click save.

Post it so we can see then nav commands in use.

Second take a snapshot of the left hand pane so we can see how the title is arranged structurally

Dvdlab pro is quiet capable of producing dvd navigational schemes which are... well, quiet ugly in performance as far as dvd nav command usage goes and trips software players up ... vlc is not at fault here.

  6. He can do the same step by step navigation check in DVD Lab Pro also, it is called debuger or debug project or something, it is almost the same as it is in PGCEDIT
sure op wanted to check smoothness of transitions, jumps between menus etc., but that could differ from player to player also,

better to do it manually like menu "outro" , where one cell is created at the end of menu , or there could be "intro" created as a cell also, those can produce smoothnes as good as it gets I guess, as long as menus are in the same VTS one after each other where you design menu A - intro for menu B -menu B

not sure how DVD Lab creates those transitions but as Bj's states you never know, this is common problem of those DVD authoring scenarios where the best thing is to do it manually on cell, VM navigation level

or even better do not create those transitions and tons of annoying menus anyway

I created legit VM commands scripts and VLC could be not performing 100% anyway, highlights etc,
