Virtualdubmpeg2 can also do it if you have ALME MP3 installed.
    Read my blog here.

Try this method, just substitute goldwave with Audacity it's free and save as MP3 instead...has worked great for me.... good luck!!!...

You didn't read my post? Perhaps it was too simple.
Open BeSweet wizard. Select VOB as input. Select MP3 as output, choose bitrate, Click "Go". It works, I've done it.
According to its log, it took 8min 47 seconds to process a 1 GB VOB.
If you have a video that extends over several VOBs, to get the audio in a single file you should use a demuxer, eg ReJig, first to extract the audio (AC3 probably) first.

If you read the guide I provided to rip...
Open Vob created by DVDD>open audacity>record>save as mp3....
Also as alan suggested ,you can use BeSweet or better yet Belight.....

Another way would be to use DGIndex to extract the wav from the vob(s) and
convert to mp3 with your favourite encoder.

AC3Tool and DVDDecrypter if necessary for demuxing(makes it a bit easier).

Hey! Good software, but I hit a snag. I dropped to .vob files in, set the perimeters, output type, bitrate, etc.. and when I hit 'Go' at the end, I get a blank Notepad file and it won't start the process. What am I supposed to do with that blank Notepad file? I was SO CLOSE! Thanks.

  11. You could try Format Factory (freeware).
Just drag your VOBs onto it and select 'All to...', well, whatever you want (not forgetting to set your output quality).
It may ask to install a toolbar and alter some of your codecs so be aware.
I use a portable version from an earlier build.

OK. I want to convert .vob to mp3. I downloaded the DGIndex and can't quite figure out how to extract the wav from the .vob. I dragged and dropped the files into main windown and nothing really happened. The software froze up (Not Responding). Are you sure that software isn't only for mpeg files? It doesn't seem compatible with .vob.
    Thanks.

Yes, dgindex can open vobs. Have you decrypted the dvd? With for example anydvd, dvdfab decrypter, etc.

Or try something else if it wont work like Pazera Free Audio Extractor.

edit: Note that dgindex does not support vobs created with the mkv2vob. They are not standard dvd vobs.

Hey. I'm new to this. I didn't decrypt it yet. I tried to convert without decrypting and everything sounded like aliens conversing. Will try decryption first and let you know.
    Thank you.

Alright. You're my hero for the day. I tried lots of different software from this thread, but alas, nothing worked. Not until you informed me I needed to decrypt first (Like I said, it's my first time doing this.). On your recommendation, I used the DVDFab software and was able to decrypt and convert all in one process, without upgrading to the 'Plus' version. Worked like a charm! I'm very happy about it!
Thank you again for you help.
