im going to 3 monitors and wanted to try a cheap 27 inch monitor for my center monitor to see how i liked it before investing in a really good quality one for work a bit further down the road....ill use it for a bit of gaming, some graphic stuff, and watching movies..it will be the center monitor between 2 24" samsungs....both a few years old..
i found a couple 27's on kijiji (like craigslist)...and need help figuring out which is a better buy..
one is an Asus ve276q 27" LED panel.....
the other is a viewsonic vx2739vm LCD 27" inch....
both are under a year old..and i can get either for 160 canadian....
which should i use...
Id appreciate feedback as im going to pick up one or the other tomorrow....
Cheers
Paul

Well, they are all LCD.
LED is just how they are lit up, all are LCD but one does not use LED for back lighting but rather, in layman's terms, cold cathode or basically fluorescent lighting.
But LED lighting is going to be better in the long run as it uses less power, will last longer, does not fade over time like the alternative lighting methods, produces better whites and colors consistently over time.
But it depends on what you really want to do with it/them.
Response time, resolution, contrast ratio, etc.
How they are backlit is kind of minor if you really want to get into specs. but LED is the better way to go regardless.
