We have a Panasonic DMR-PWT420
This is conencted to our Samsung HD (3D) television via HDMI cable
It is also connected to an OrbitSound speaker system by optical fibre.
The problem is with DVD/Blueray playback.
During the introduction trailers, the sound to the speaker System is OK. Within half a second of selecting "play" of the main the sound changes to extremely loud "white noise".
We are forced to turn the sound system off and revert to the normal TV speakers through the HDMI connection which is not affected.
The connection between the Panasonic and Orbitsoud units is via Optic fibre.
I have been in contact with Panasonic and have upgraded the firmware and carried out all suggested steps, including reverting the unit to "shipping" state.
I guess the problem occurs when the optical output changes to the full Dolby 7.1
Any ideas?

Check the speaker manual to see if it's able to decode DTS, Dolby Digital audio... If it can set the player digital output to RAW. Otherwise, connect the optical cable to the TV's optical output, if it has one.
