Blu-ray rippers removes the region coding.

Or do you mean what resolution/frame size and fps?

  3. no no ... I am talking about region code here.
I used a BR Ripper and it looks like it lets or even put another region code to my Rip - I wouls like to confirm this ...

In the mean time I made another rip asking to remove the region code and it looks ok - but still on my first rip I would like to verify what the region code is ...

  5. well,

It is with DVDFab which I created the Rip ...
Now I would like to know the region code the raip has been made with.

So I would need a tool allowing to "scan" my BR structure and tell me the region code ...

    It should be removed

    From http://www.dvdfab.com/blu-ray-ripper.htm

    Rip any Blu-ray
All known AACS copy protections including the newest MKB v26 and bus encryption, Region Code, BD-Live, and UOPs can be removed, so DVDFab Blu-ray ripper can rip any Blu-ray.

  7. yes - but it was not ... there is effectively an option to remove the region code, but the first RIP I did still contains a region code (my popcorn says there is a region code on the RIP ...)
    .
I would like to verify that

I cannot say this definitively, but I do get the impression that Popcorn Hour does not officially license their BluRay support. If I am right about that, then you can't take what they report as the absolute truth. It could just be a bug. I don't have DVDFab to test with, but I would not think that you can optionally turn on and off the ability to remove region coding, but someone who owns it will have to check that.

  10. I am sure DvdFab can remve the Region code.
All I want to do here is verify the Region code set for a BR Rip structure I have on my PC ...

  11. I just checked DVDFab's settings.

    Settings -> DVD/Blu-Ray -> Protection -> Blu-Ray -> Remove RC (Region Code)

Using default settings, RC will be removed.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

  12. I know !!! please forget about DVDFab ... All I want is to know the region code set to a BR rip I have on my computer !!!
Any DVD is not helping here, at it looks like only looking at my physical BR drive, and not a BR structure on my HDD ...

  13. I was answering jman98, and not addressing you, so don't get excited.

Nevertheless, I'm having a hard time seeing the point here. If you haven't changed the default settings, RC most certainly *HAS* been removed from anything ripped with DVDFab. Popcorn Hour notwithstanding.

Dunno of any program which will do what you're asking.

I'm going to tell you WHAT to do, but I'm not going to tell you HOW to do it. You can look that up.

    1) Assuming you haven't screwed with the rip and changed it, make an ISO out of it.
    2) Install Daemon Tools. Mount the ISO with it.
    3) Use DVDFab or AnyDVD to examine the mounted ISO to see what the region code is.
    4) Don't be surprised if they tell you that there is no region code. That means Popcorn Hour has a problem.

  15. DvdFqb is not telling what the region code of the source is ... it just has a menu where you can select to remove the region code or set the region code you want.
Any DVD only seems to be looking at what is inserted in the Physical BR reader ... not to a BR structure ....

What I have is a BR structure to read. Even if I make it an ISO, can Any DVD scan this iso ??
OR maybe you mention I need to mount it to my G drive ?

I told you EXACTLY what to do. If you are not smart enough to understand that I told you EXACTLY WHAT TO DO, then nobody here can help you. If you do EXACTLY what I told you to do, AnyDVD and DVDFab can read it. Moron. I'm done here.

  18. ok - I have created an ISO for both of my BR, mounted it and verified with AnyDVD, but it tells it is region 1 for both of them :

    Summary fordrive H: (AnyDVD HD 7.1.5.0, BDPHash.bin 12-11-23)
    DTSOFT BDROM 1.05 10/08/14
    Drive (Hardware) Region: 1

    Summary for drive H: (AnyDVD HD 7.1.5.0, BDPHash.bin 12-11-23)
    DTSOFT BDROM 1.05 10/08/14
    Drive (Hardware) Region: 1

...but the thing is that I suspect DVDFab has changed again the region code when creating the iso.
Unfortunately, DVDFab is not able to tell the reion of a BR it is scanning. IT is just able to ask what to do with the region for the output which is produced (Remove it, or set one of the 3 régions ...)

    I have a similar issue.

When you load a blu-ray in to DVDfab to copy it and remove the region code, it first asks what its current region code is.

This is what I need to find out from the blu-ray I already have.

When I load it in AnyDVD it only tells me the region code of the drive.

As it looks like it has done in your last post, it tells you the drive region is 1, not the blu-ray disks region.

Can anyone tell me a quick and easy way to find the region of the blu-ray disks please?

    Thanks

Are these retail releases that you bought second-hand or something illegitimate? If they originate in England then they will play in Region B.

The only way to truly know the region of a Blu-ray is testing in a player, at least until someone emulates BD-J outside of a full player. Download a trial version of one of the software packages and play it in there to see.
