Deleted thread re fonts. Was it suspect ?

This afternoon, I saw a thread in the 'News' section about fonts.

Curiousity overcame me and I took a look at it. There was even a reply to the OP in the thread.

After viewing the site - it could be a coincidence - but my broswer was crashing at ease - I could not scroll down a page. I found some items that I thought had been previously removed and some new ones which seemed suspicious.

Having unistalled these, my browser now appears to be fine but I also can not see the topic about the fonts. is there a connection ?

That spam thread was "deleted" by the admin himself, apparently.
The only reply to the Original Spammer was mine, BTW.

Not sure if that site contains malware or something, though

Since you are the only honcho that I know visited the site, if you have had no browser issues (but then maybe you are a wise man and do not use IE ) then there may have been a coincidence.

Still, as you pointed out, the fonts were extremely limited and even for a 'free' site there had to be some payoff somewhere.

I also visited the site - it wasn't really as described in the original post, but it didn't trigger any of my security software either. I don't think it was malicious, just spammy!
