Every time I start converting something, it locks up after 18-20 minutes. I have turned off the preview function, and my computer does not go to standby or anything like that. I have uninstalled and reinstalled TMPEG many many times, with the same result. Plus, the SVCDs that I burn with a TMPEG conversion have audio that skips over and over again, even with a low bitrate. I used Vegas Video 3 to render and burn the SAME SVCD file, and it played perfectly...however the picture quality wasn't as good because there is no Motion Search function on Vegas Video. Now what can I use to burn good looking SVCDs?

So....maybe now it's time to start looking at your Operating System to solve the lockup problem.
Try booting your system in a minimal configuration. In other words, nothing running in the background, nothing in the system tray, no virus scan, no FastFind, etc. Then try doing the conversion. Maybe TMPGEnc doesn't work well with other software loaded in the background.
Maybe even try booting in "safe mode" and doing the conversion....but I don't know if this will work.
Let me know what happens...~Urbs~
